thousand three hundred children under the age of 15 in the u?s will be diagnosed with cancer. that number is why saint baldricks hosted a special event at whistle binkie's on the lake today... to raise money for childhood cancer research. kimt news 3's annalise johnson highlights volunteers bravely going bald... to help those in need./// to celebrate her sisters 20th year of working with kids with cancer ? jen chinnow joined her sister ? her fiance ? and her son phoenix in shaving their heads together. that's why we all do it... because kids shouldn't have to suffer... kids just need to be kids. team chinlings think that shaving their heads to raise money for cancer research is just a small thing they can do to help children with cancer ? who are dealing with much more than just losing their hair. the pain the emotions and all of that you know us shaving our heads is just a sliver of the pie you could say. many kids took part in the event... aimed at helping other kids who are battling cancer. ruby flies ? molly shilts ? and sidney flies volunteered... after raising two hundred dollars for saint baldricks at a lemonade stand. we feel that its good to help kids in need and we want to help people who have cancer get better. phoenix chinnow wants to go bald so that kids being treated for cancer don't feel alone when they lose their hair. i'm a little nervous but i am excited to do it because i can stand up for the kids who have cancer... and be proud of it... yeah and be proud of it. the kids at the head shaving event have a message for children with cancer. they're strong and that they should keep fighting. more than forty people shaved their heads at today's eveng... with the goal of raising thirty thousand dollars for childhood cancer research.
