Title: Morning Meteorologist

Jon joined the KIMT StormTeam in July 2015 as the weekend meteorologist. He was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, and now is quite a ways from home. Even though he is used to temperatures barely making it past the freezing point, he is excited to both experience and forecast the winters ahead.

Jon attended Texas A&M in College Station. This is where he earned his Bachelors of Science in meteorology and was able to scrape together a math minor as well by the end of his college career. Come football season, you can find him proudly supporting his beloved Aggies every time they take to the grid iron by displaying his school colors. He has no problem bringing the spirit of the 12th Man to the state of Iowa.
After his college career, Jon accepted an internship with the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. There, he interpreted satellite data to analyze a volcano in South America and its hazards for the surrounding cities. It was a great learning experience, but he wanted to pursue something different.

After returning to San Antonio, he took a production assistant job at the local news station, KENS 5. This is where he was mentored by the weather team and fell in love with telling the forever changing story of the weather. He would practice before his shift, during shifts, after shifts and even on his days off to get better at presenting the weather. He wrapped up his time in San Antonio after eight months and accepted the job offer from KIMT.

In his free time, Jon likes to take his puppy, Echo, out and about, with frequent trips to the puppy park. Jon and Echo both root for the Denver Broncos, San Antonio Spurs, and of course, the Texas A&M Aggies.
