The Mason City Girls Basketball Team is expecting big things in 2009. The Mohawks are hoping to improve off their three conference win total from a year ago.
But it all starts with day one of practice, this afternoon.
"We have three basic things, we want to work hard, we want to have a great attitude, and we want to have fun. If we can do those three things, every night, it could be a great season for us," says Coach Curt Klaahsen.
"I think we have a lot of potential as a team this year. We have a lot of girls that want to work hard and we spent a lot of time during the summer together playing a lot of teams, doing a lot of practicing, so I think the first day should be pretty good," says Senior Power Forward Kati Wubben.
The Mohawks take the floor for the first time November 24th at Des Moines East.
