WORTH COUNTY, IA--Just after six p.m. on Sunday, fire crews were called to a farm southwest of Manly.

A grass fire was out of control and burning-up part of a corn field.

Manly's Fire Department called-in extra help to douse the flames.

Manly Fire Chief Dick Mackin, offered some advice: "Anyone who is going to be doing a burn--they need to keep an eye on it. And they need to call-in either to Worth County, Cerro Gordo County and let them know that they are going to be doing a controlled burn."

Chief Mackin also said that if your fire does get out of control--don't wait to call your local fire department.
