Explorer Anne Bancroft is talking to Austin High School students in honor of women's history month.Bancroft is a Minnesota native and the first woman to reach the North Pole on foot and sled.
She’s also the first woman to ski across Greenland, and in the early nineties she led an all woman expedition to the South Pole.
She is telling students they too can do great things. “I want young boys and young girls to see that women can achieve anything that they set out to do."
Bancroft is planning another expedition next year with an international team. Students across the world will be able to follow the expedition.
