MASON CITY,IA-Wellness is now in the workplace.The Cerro Gordo Department of Public Health started a workplace wellness program throughout all county offices.
They're encouraging other offices to get involved.
Officials say it's an easy and cost effective way to create a healthier work environment.
Wellness Service Manager Kelli Huinker says, "the packet that we have just list different steps employees can take and services, ideas that range from anything from education to entertainment and behavior change, team competitions."
Huinker says the program has been very successful in her office.
In a recent weight management program 30 employees lost 265 pounds.
They've even put together an information packet to help folks get started.
