Weapon Involved in Nashua Dispute

WAVERLY – A Nashua man is being held in the Bremer County Jail on a $25,000 cash only bond, after a Sunday morning incident involving a weapon in Waverly.

Benjamin Quintin Thorson, 20, is charged with going with intent, a Class D felony.

Waverly Police were called to 1910 Horton Road at 4:17 a.m. after a report of domestic violence. Officers were advised that there was an altercation between the male resident and the armed man, but a female inside the residence took the weapon away. The suspect left the residence, but later called authorities and agreed turn himself in.

Waverly officers later executed a search warrant at Thorson’s home and two additional weapons were seized.
