E-Coli Found in Area Lake

Hampton, IA- One area lake is showing a high number of E-coli bacteria.

An Iowa Department of Natural Resources water report show's Beed Lake Beach in violation of its standards. Authorities often check area lakes.

Just a few weeks ago, we told you the Franklin County Beach reach E-coli levels four times the allowable bacteria amount.

One local woman hopes the lake can get cleaned up.

"For a small town it's a beautiful lake and it's about one of the only family oriented activities we can do together," said Patricia Gardener.

Right now, the DNR isn't recomending people swim in the lake.
