MASON CITY, IA-North Iowa Hospice is helping families through the holidays with Tree of Life ceremonies.Everyone is being encouraged to make a donation in memory of a friend or family member who has died. A light is placed on a tree and remains lit through christmas.
Hospice staff say it's comforting, because the holidays can be tough for people who have lost someone.
Nurse Manager, Kay Gabriel says, "so the Tree of Life is a celebration of memories of those people who have died so this is to kind of help them cope with it through the holidays."
