CLEAR LAKE, IA- Thousands of people came to the Clear Lake Fourth of July parade Saturday morning. In the crowd, sat one area soldier just back from his third tour in Iraq. Jade Wilson said he's happy to be at this year's Clear Lake Independence Day celebration

After more than a year overseas, the Garner native is glad to spend this holiday with his family. Even though he's home, Wilson said his mission isn't finished.

"Putting a face to the fact there are young veterans and there is still a war going on," said Wilson.

Wilson believes his duty in Iraq is in keeping with the wishes of our nation's founding fathers.

"Helping people less fortunate than us that's basically country built on," said Wilson.

The soldier says this holiday is time for reflection. Without military service, Wilson doesn't believe he'd  be the person he is today.

For now Wilson is celebrating Independence Day, but he is also looking forward to another tour in Iraq.
