AUSTIN, MN - More than one hundred snowmobilers are firing up their sleds and taking to the trails in Mower County in honor of their friend Cory Allhiser.

Those who couldn't make it for the ride are also sending money and well wishes to help support the family he left behind.

Family members Rachel Trocinski and Nicole Davis, say, "It’s more than we could have expected and with all the companies that have come together to help we're appreciative of that."

More than 120 sponsors are giving the family money or are donating gifts for the silent auction held at the post-ride banquet. But family members say the event is about more than money. "It’s bringing everybody together to remember Cory and celebrate what he loved to do."

Like many others here, Cory loved to snowmobile. Those who love to ride stick together and this family is even finding support from across state lines.

"People come from Wisconsin like 3 1/2 hours away, a lot of people out of state and out of town show up for it. They didn't even know the guy and they came down for it."

Fourteen year-old Levi Anderson and his family don't know Allhisser or his fiancé, but they still showed up to pay tribute to a fellow lover of the motor sport. "It’s somebody that passed away from a snowmobiling accident, we had to come and support that.”

Even though it was a snowmobiling accident that took the life of Cory Allhiser, riders like Anderson explain it's a lifestyle they just can't give up.
