CHARLES CITY, IA--
Charles City firefighters responded to an unusual call on the 4th of July.A little after 10 Saturday night a portable cooler at a HyVee grocery store filled the store with smoke.
One employee was taken to Floyd County Medical Center for minor injuries.
A firefighter said he thinks an overheated motor caused the problem.
“That created some smoke and it actually created enough smoke to fill alot of the store,” said Eric Whipple, Charles City Fire-Rescue Public Information Officer.
The store had to close for a few hours as employees cleaned up the mess.
They reopened Sunday morning.
