CLARKSVILLE, IA--For some riders, RAGBRAI is not really about the biking. For people like the Burge sisters, it's at least partially about the people you meet along the way. “It's fun, it's so much fun we get to laugh and hang out together through the whole week,” they said.

While they enjoy their time together, they're also part of a larger group of riders---people they met on their very first RAGBRAI years ago. “From that day, from that moment we became a 20 year long term friendship, we go to New York, they've come to Ohio,” they said.

The group has bonded over the years, even attending each other's weddings. “We've been in each others lives involved for a long time and yea it's more than just RAGBRAI now,” they say.

The Burge sisters have been doing RAGBRAI for 20 years. But this year they decided to try something a little bit different.

This is their first time literally riding together. They say three pairs of legs is propelling them along the route quicker than they usually go. “Well I mean we go so much faster, we cruise about 23 miles per hour so we get in towns so fast it's awesome,” they said.

But there doesn't seem to be consensus on whether or not the work is evenly distributed. “Actually I'm in the front so I don't think they pedal at all, I do all the pedaling,” said Kelly, of her two sisters Kara and Tracy.

While all three are familiar faces along the RAGBRAI route, will this triplet soon become a traveling tradition? “I don't know, if we come back next year we'll probably do that again,” they say.
