ALBERT LEA, MN---Freeborn County authorities could resume the search for a missing man on Friday morning.

On Thursday afternoon, firefighters spent close to three hours searching for fertilizer truck operator Seth Strusz, 34, of Hartland, Minnesota.

Strusz drives a dry chemical fertilizer truck for High Yield, in Hartland.

Sometime before 4 p.m., Strusz got his rig stuck in what Freeborn County Sheriff's Office detective Will Beers described as 20-to-30 acre area of swampland and woods in a farm field just  North of Albert Lea off of 725th Avenue.

Beers said the front end of the truck got stuck about 30 feet into the wetland area.

Authorities believe Strusz hurt himself because they found a star pattern on the vehicle's windshield where it appears Strusz might have hit his head.

Traces of blood were also found in a picked cornfield, where it is believed that Strusz walked away from his rig and followed the perimeter of the field.

A Minnesota State Patrol helicopter equipped with heat seeking technology helped search a 5 mile area around 725th Avenue, between Freeborn County Roads 14 and 25.

Meanwhile a handful of fire departments from the Albert Lea area searched farm sites on the ground with the assistance of a K-9.

Authorities are not sure if Strusz is walking, was picked up by someone, or has taken somewhere.

If you have any information about his whereabouts, call the Freeborn County Sheriff's Office at 507-377-5200.
