More middle school aged kids may be getting vaccines recommended for that age group.According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more teens appear to have gotten vaccines like Tdap and the Human Papillomavirus Vaccine.
One public health official says this year they've seen a big uptick in kids coming in to get them. “We're starting to see that trend pick up quite a bit and it's promising because we know that there's illnesses out there that are preventable from vaccines and parents are starting to utilize those a bit more ,” said Karen Crimmings, of the Cerro Gordo Department of Public Health.
Crimmings says it's important to get the recommended vaccines in order to avoid getting the diseases that go along with them.
