Mason City, IA-  Police are making more connections as they investigate a bank robbery in Mason City.
Police say the suspect walked into First Citizens National Bank at 33 East State Street and demanded money.
No one got hurt and the man left in a teal blue or green pickup truck.
The getaway vehicle may be tied to a report of a stolen truck Thursday evening.
Mason City police say a person left their unlocked pickup parked in the fire lane at Shopko with the engine running.
That truck has since been located, but police are still investigating the truck's possible link to the robbery.   Also, at about 9:15am this morning, Mason City Police received a call saying there was a bomb at Newman catholic School.
They sent officers out to investigate.
About 45 minutes later the bank robbery call came in.
Police put the two together, and determined the Newman bomb threat call was more than likely an attempt to distract officers from the robbery.

Captain Mike McKelvey says, "That would make sense making a distraction, like I said one of the first things they train us on is don't send all your eggs to one location in case it is a rouse or something like that."

No bomb was found at the school and all the students are safe.

Newman K-12 Administrator, Tony Adams tells KIMT News 3, "The police made sure that the facility we would go to is a safe facility, they did a sweep to make sure everything was fine and then we got our students as quickly as possible into those facilities."

Police say the suspect is believed to a male, who concealed his identity.

The suspect did not show a weapon, and left with an unknown amount of money.

The FBI is also involved in this investigation.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Mason City Police Department at 641-421-3636.
