AUSTIN, MINN. -- It was a weekend of raising funds for breast cancer research in one Minnesota town.

Austin ‘Painted the Town Pink’ this past weekend.

There were many events planned, including ice fishing.

Fans also gathered Saturday night at the Austin Bruin’s game to paint the rink pink and raise money for breast cancer.

The sold out crowd could also take part in an auction of jerseys after the game.

Organizers say the money is pouring in.

“We’ve been getting checks in the office all day and the institute is receiving funds too, and we're looking toward that grand total that will come in by the end of the week,” Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Cheryl Corey said.

All the money will go to the Hormel Institute for breast cancer research.
