CHARLES CITY, IA--
You may remeber that Verasun, which had an ethanol plant in Charles City, went bankrupt last fall.
That branch was bought by Valero in early April.
But at that time, Verasun had already accrued $38,000 in unpaid water bills.
That amount is from two months and was from before Verasun filed bankruptcy.
The Charles City city administrator says Valero has agreed to pay the old bills.
“We’ve resolved this issue and some other unpaid charges that Verasun owed us and Valero has agreed to reimburse us everything,” said Tom Brownlow, the city’s administrator.
Brownlow says Valero has agreed to pay off the water and other unpaid bills.
The company hasn't paid off those bills in full yet.
