CLEAR LAKE, IA - City leaders hope a new project could add a little extra rock and roll to Clear Lake.

They're in the planning phases of the new “Circle Park”: a 50’s, record themed park near the Surf Ballroom.

On Monday night, the developers showed off their plans for the tribute to rock and roll legends like Buddy Holly and the Big Bopper, and the planning director is especially proud of one of the park's most unique touches.

"This walk that went towards the alley, that we're doing concrete pavers to look like a keyboard," said Rich Gardnet from the park’s designing group.

In addition to the keyboard walkway, they hope to make the rings around the park look like records.

The park will be located on North Shore Drive in the old Nelson's Amoco site.

If things stay on schedule, they'd like to have it complete by August.
