Nashua, IA- People in one area community are concerned about the closing of their local grocery store.
The owner of B & D Foods in Nashua is shutting the doors of the town's only grocery store after next week.
Nashua's Mayor says the business isn't doing very well.
Monday night the community gathered to discuss options to keep the store open. They're currently looking for a new owner.
The Mayor says many people shop at larger stores outside of town.
"They have a bigger variety, you can't stop people from doing that, sure you wish they would buy everything at our local grocery store but it's not going to happen," said Mayor John Phyfe.
The same company who built the new Parkersburg grocery store may be interested in building one in Nashua.
They're having another meeting next week.
