Mayor Bob Retires

Ventura, IA-For the past 20 years, Robert Wolfram has called Ventura's City Hall home. Everybody knows him as Mayor Bob, he's even got the hat and car to prove it.

His years of service started after he retired from his job.
"I was sitting around a while I got to get into something else," said Mayor Bob.
So, he got an idea from his friends.

"I was encouraged by a few people Wolfram, why don't you run for mayor," said Mayor Bob.

And folks, that's all she wrote.
"I did it i won here I am yet 20 years later.>

Mayor Bob greets everyone with a smile and handshake. He said the people of Ventura is why he's here. The Mayor said he works tirelessy to help improve the community. One project he champions is building a new library and post office.
He claims some wanted to renovate the old building but Mayor Bob knew he made the right decision the day they moved out.
"It was raining and it was nothing but a gush of water come through the roof of that building," said Mayor Bob.

Those stories of triumph is what Mayor Bob is really going to remeber.

"I'm going to miss it. It's going hurt the day I step out," said Mayor Bob.

Eventhough he won't have the title, Mayor Bob says he'll still be working to help better Ventura.
