MASON CITY, IA - Planning is underway to make a local school run a little greener.
"We're very proud of that, and very proud of this building," said one of the architects proposing plans to the school board on Monday night.
He, and several other firms are hoping to win the contract to renovate Mason City High School and John Adams Middle School.
The school board has more than $9 million in energy efficiency awards to work with.
At this point, no decisions are being made, but the board will hear more proposals Tuesday night.
