Clear Lake, IA- Clear Lake Marina bar owner, Alan Slater believes he's being pushed out of the tourist town. Slater claims the city leaders aren't making life easy for him.
"Outsiders are not welcomed and they made that plenty clear over the last year," said Slater.
In the past year, Slater's bar has had a couple run ins with the law. Recently, a jury found him not guilty of violating the city's adult entertainment ordinance.
Last June, Slater's bar was the site of a wet t-shirt contest. Police believe the contest showed too much but Slater doesn't think the charge was warranted in the first place.
"You see more at the beach than what you saw here that night," said Slater.
Clear Lake city leaders didn't want to comment but the police chief says he was just enforcing the law. One Clear Lake man trusts his decision.
"I don't think they would target a specific bar or establishment," said Patrick Azeltine.
Since the court ruled in favor of the Marina, the city attorney suggests the council take a second look at its adult entertainment ordinance. No decision are being made just yet.
