Man Injured in Lawn Mower Mishap

MANLY, IA---A Worth County School employee is recovering after he injured himself in a lawn mower accident.

Manly Police said Vaugn Kloster, 61, of Manly was mowing the grounds of Central Springs High School and Elementary shortly after 5 p.m. on Tuesday at 105 East South Street.

Police Chief Jim O'Keefe said the mishap occurred as Kloster stepped off of a riding lawn mower.

Something got bumped, one of Kloster's feet ended up under the mower deck and his "foot got tangled in the blade," said O'Keefe.

O'Keefe did not have any more details, but he did describe it as a "significant injury."

Kloster is listed in fair condition at a Mason City hospital.
