Rockwell, IA- A fall at a construction site sends a man to the hospital.

It happened south west of Rockwell.  Joe Leverton of Monticello, Minnesota fell after the board he stepped on broke.

The Mason City Fire Department took him to Mercy Medical Center North Iowa.

A fellow worker who saw the fall says Leverton nearly made it to the top of the shed where he could attach his safety gear.

"When you're up high there's always a chance of falling even with the best safety equipment you can have it working it has to be attached to the top so as you're going up there's always a risk," said Aaron Outhoudt.

Outhoudt tells us he thinks Leverton may have broken his arm in the fall.  Mercy Medical Center says he was transferred to a different hospital.  His condition is unknown.
