Mason City, IA-- A letter from the director of the Landfill of North Iowa is being sent out to 29 boad members, just one day before they're set to vote on a waste energy plant.
Board member George Simpson, of Ventura tells us the letter isn't meant to sway the votes either way, but gives options besides approving a contract with Creative Energy Systems.
The letter is recommending that they look at all sides of the issue, and possibly look into other companies before signing a 10 to 20 year contract.
CES wants to build a plant that would turn trash into energy in North Iowa.
Most recently, the Mason City zoning board of adjustments voted to allow CES to move forward with the project, but about 30 conditions would have to be met.
CES would also need approval from the North Iowa Landfill Board, the city council, the Iowa DNR, and Alliant Energy.
The board meets tomorrow night at seven in Clear Lake.
