MASON CITY, IA - Bells will be ringing all over Mason City in just a couple weeks. Families are gearing up for this year's Jingle Bell Run/Walk on December 5th. The money raised supports Iowa's chapter of the Arthritis Foundation.
Organizer Melissa Kramer said, it's really about fun, not competition. There's a five mile race, which draws some top runners. But if you're in the mood for a more casual stroll, there's a shorter option.
Kramer noted, "the two mile is, it's all on flat ground. It's on the streets of Mason City, and you can walk it if you want. So really, all levels can join us."
If the outdoors are not your thing, there's also the option of walking inside the mall. You're encouraged to dress up in fun holiday costumes - there's even prizes for the best get-ups.
The race starts at 8:00 AM. Their goal is to raise $15,000 this year. To find out how to sign up, click on the link to the right of your screen.
