MASON CITY, IA--
A little horsing around is bringing in plenty of business for the Mason City area.Hundreds of people galloped to Mason City this week for the Midstates horse competition at the North Iowa Fairgrounds.
This is the second week of competition at the fairgrounds.
The show's manager said people are coming from all over the Midwest--nearly 400 horses came too.
“It’s all about jumping and running, “said Kris Rame, the show’s manager. “Sometimes going fast and trying not to go too fast—it all depends on what kind of horse you prefer.”
She also said they are giving out close to $40,000 in prize money.
