MASON CITY, IA--
A North Iowa community is used to trains passing through. But one heading its way this week will be a first. The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will come chugging into Mason City this Thursday afternoon.
The festive locomotive will help raise money and donations for the Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank. “I think it'll be an event that anybody can enjoy, it's not overly long, we're going to have hot chocolate and coffee there to help try and keep people warm and it should be a good community event,” said Al Bock, the board president of the Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank.
The train will be pulling up along the tracks on South Kentucky Avenue on Thursday at around 2:30. Organizers are asking for a food or money donation.
