MASON CITY, IA- It's about time for golfing season and community members are voicing opinions on what should change at Highland park.

"Fore Highland Tomorrow" initiative is a group dedicated to improving Mason City's public course.

Their goal is to increase revenue with out putting it back on the golfers. They also want to get golfers feedback on what needs to be changed or updated.

It's still early, but some things they hope to change are the sand traps and attracting more young people to course.

Co-chair of "Fore Highland Tomorrow" Dave Dunn said, "I checked yesterday and its 83% are 51 years or older so we need to get some young people out here to help start support this course..for the future."

Managers tell us they hope to open for the season by the first week in April.
