CLEAR LAKE, IA - A local support group is working to make the holidays brighter for people dealing with the death of a loved one. Clear Lake's Open Bible Church is holding a one-day grief seminar November 7th from 1:00-3:30. They're hoping to help people cope during a time of year which is so closely linked to family and tradition.
The organizers know first-hand what it's like to lose someone you love. Diane Swear, for example, recognizes that celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas without her husband will never be easy. He died suddenly three years ago.
"I think that time makes it different. I miss him no less, but I'm learning to go on with my life and do positive things with it - a lot of them in his memory," she noted.
