The North Iowa Fair is losing some funding from the county after several cities cut them out of the budget.
Both Mason City and Clear Lake are not able to give money to the fairgrounds.
Cerro Gordo County is still giving them money but it will be $30,000 instead of $40,000.
In previous years the fair board has not made room in their budget for things like insurance and repair. Phillip Dougherty of the County Board of Supervisors says they are asking that this year they plan those things in budget, so the county isn't paying for them later.
"They are maybe not doing things wrong, but doing things they've always done for 40-50 years. It gets stagnant; they’ll do this year what they did last year."
This years fair budget is being dispersed in four installments.
The budget year is starting July 1st.
