Floyd Fire Fighters Camp Out for Cash
FLOYD, IA-Floyd's Volunteer fire fighters are in for the long haul when it comes to raising money. The group plans to camp outside the town's gas station until they raise $25,000.
They will be there as long as it takes, according to Chief Ben Chatfield. Right now, crews are alternating four hour shifts. The fundraising started at 6am Saturday morning.
The department wants to buy a jaws of life. The piece of equipment could cut down their response time. Right now, they have to wait on the Floyd County Search and Rescue team from Charles City. Chatfield says it can take up to 45 minutes from the time of the crash.
If you would like to donate, just stop by the Floyd gas stations located off the Avenue of the Saints. Or call 641-330-8787.
