Five Clear Lake Employees Opt for Early Retirement
Clear Lake, IA- Five local school employees are taking advantage of early retirement.
Clear Lake's school board is announcing this will be the last year to receive early voluntary retirement benefits. The superintendent says it's due to changes in the way the program is funded.
Dwight Pierson says there's a chance the early retirememts will save money for the district. He says it gives them the option to not fill those positions or higher younger teachers with less experience.
