We have every intention and hope that the economy recovers faster than the projections.
MASON CITY, IA--A North Iowa company is blaming a lag in orders for its decision to layoff some workers.

FRC Components of Mason City announced it is cutting 13 positions.

Many of those affected are workers on FRC's assembly line.

The company employed nearly 90 people locally.

Filter Research Corporation in Mason City supplies aircraft antennas, plastic electronic components assemblies, display panels for aircraft and wireless internet products.

Its major customers are Honeywell International and Rockwell Collins.

FRC Components General Manager said those companies have experienced a downturn and reduced their orders as a result of the economy.

Susan Raja said, "Every employee will be eligible for rehire once the work load returns," she said. "We have every intention and hope that the economy recovers faster than the projections. We remain optimistic."
