Congressional members are discussing the Minnesota Clean Car Act today and that's making folks at the Minnesota Environmental Partnership happy.
A report released today shows that Mower County alone, is projected at saving over two million dollars by 2020 if manufactures switched to the eco-friendly alternative.
But the field organizer tells us some people are confusing the act with the Low Carbon Fuel Act.
Field Organizer Merlene Stiles says, "The Clean Car bill is going to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from tailpipes of cars and light trucks and that's the goal of the bill. It will also, in the process, give us better gas mileage and so that's how Minnesotans will save money."
California is the first state that passed the legislation, and thirteen other's followed suit.
Those we spoke with are hoping to make Minnesota the fifteenth.
