Some students around Minnesota will be seeing a change in their spring break.
Some districts have begun to drop the week long break.
Instead, Monticello and Roseau school districts will have an extended weekend in April.
The Austin School District has done this in the past and experts say it does have its benefits.
"Those smaller breaks are better instructional breaks, not only for staff but also for the students,” Director of Human Resources Mary Burroughs said. “You don't have a week break in your calendar year where their off then coming back.”
This year Austin will have a week-long spring break.
