MASON CITY, IA--North Iowa business people may soon be making the trek to China.

That's because the Mason City Chamber of Commerce is organizing a nine day trip for members and guests.

They're not sure how many people will sign up, but they're hoping for around 50 or more.

The executive director of the chamber tells us they'll be meeting with Chinese business people while there. “We've been hearing for years, there's a lot of concern about the number of jobs that are going to China,” said Robin Anderson, the executive director of the Mason City Chamber of Commerce. “But I think the thing that we're missing is what's the opportunity for us to sell American products to the Chinese.”

Anderson says they're planning the trip for October 26th through November 3rd.

The cost is just shy of $2,000 per person.
