ALBERT LEA, MN--
Whether you're Irish or just wish you were, many folks will be celebrating St. Patrick's Day Wednesday evening. And that celebration may involve alcohol for some.
Law enforcement officials are asking you to please be responsible, however you choose to celebrate the day.
In Albert Lea, one officer tells us that they'll be watching drivers for alcohol impairment. “Tonight's no different than any other night, we ask that if you're going to drink, drink responsibly and if you feel that you're impaired have a designated driver,” said Lt. J.D. Carlson of the Albert Lea Police Department.
Carlson says between 2006 and 2008, there were 14 St. Patrick's Day deaths on Minnesota highways, because of DWI and alcohol.
