Blazing Star Trail Progress
ALBERT LEA---Folks in southern Minnesota got an update on the Blazing Star Trail Wednesday night.
Representatives from the DNR and leaders from Albert Lea, Austin, and Hayward discussed the trail's progress with the community.
The executive director for the Albert Lea Convention and Visitor's Bureau said there's great potential for economic benefits.
Susie Petersen said before Lanesboro got their trail in 1985, they had only 200 thousand dollars in lodging revenue.
"And after that trail in 2007, they have over 4 million dollars in lodging, so it's a huge economic impact."
The connection between Albert Lea and Hayward is complete, now the trail needs to cross the state park and make its way to Austin.
