2 Women Die in Weekend Wreck

BLAIRSBURG, IA—The Iowa State Patrol is reporting the names of 2 North Iowans killed in a weekend traffic crash.

Paula Ann Johnson, 53, Belmond and Minnie Henrietta Johnson, 93, of Belmond died Sunday at around noon.

They were riding in Chevy Venture van.

The State Patrol said weather was a factor as driver Dallas Johnson, 53 of Belmond lost control on Highway 69, just North of Blairsburg.

The Southbound vehicle was hit on its passenger side by a Northbound Mercury Mountaineer driven by Ashley Ammerman, 25, of Clarion.

Seth Neil Johnson, 17, of Belmond was also in the van.

Bryan Lee Butz, 25 and Taylan Elwood, 6, Landen Elwood, 3 and Briar Ammerman, 19 months, all of Clarion were treated at area hospitals.

There is no word on their condition.
