MASON CITY, IA-Boys all across the country are celebrating 100 years of scouting.

Area troops are ending the year long celebration with a public camp-a-ree at East Park in Mason City.

They are inviting any one who is interested in joining Cub or Boy Scouts.

Area leaders say it's their main goal to teach life lessons with outdoor activities that has gotten them to 100 years.

Mark Curran, Scout District Leader said, "I think it's the basic traditional values the character education that the boy scouts of america provide for these youth and I just think it's something that never goes out of style."
