ST. ANSGAR, IA - In November, Allison Smith of Stacyville was killed when her vehicle, a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville, collided with a St. Ansgar school bus on U.S. Highway 218.
The Iowa State Patrol has determined that the 17-year-old St. Ansgar Junior was texting while driving at the time of the accident.
Trooper Mike Haugen said they were able to determine that information by contacting her cell phone provider and comparing video from the camera on the school bus at the time of the collision.
