CLEAR LAKE, IA - It’s Clear Lake's biggest event and tickets are on sale.
Folks lined up this morning outside the Surf Ballroom to purchase a spot at the "Winter Dance Party".
The line was already gone by nine in the morning and tickets for seating were sold out only an hour after opening.
Organizers tell us this year partiers can expect to see Chuck Berry, Jason Williams and other big bands. The four day event starts February 1st. But Surf Ballroom Director Laurie Lietz says get your standing room tickets now.
"It's really rewarding for us to know how many states and countries come together at Clear Lake in the middle of February. We know we have something truly special here and I know a lot of it is just the community and the north Iowa atmosphere,” Lietz said.
But it's also a big event for folks around the country.

"I was a Ritchie Valens, Buddy Holly fan and really enjoy all that kind of music, the old rock and roll to 50's rock and roll. There's just a real feel for this place,” Jerry Andersen, a visitor of the Surf, said.
This Buddy Holly fan has been driving from Wisconsin to the Surf in person for the past five years to get his winter dance party tickets.
He also spends the day taking in the sights at the Surf and around Clear Lake.
