ALBERT LEA, Minn. -- An Area Newspaper reporter will soon get to see local troops serving our country halfway across the world.

The Albert Lea Tribune and Austin Daily Herald will be sending Special Projects Editor Kelli Lageson to Kuwait to catch up with local units of the Minnesota National Guard that are stationed there.

Lageson says that prior experiences at Fort McCoy in Wisconsin led to the idea.

"It really was how awesome it felt to go to Fort McCoy and how family members appreciated it and I thought it would be so cool for Albert Lea and Austin to see what their local soldiers are doing,” Albert Lea Tribune Special Projects Editor Kelli Lageson said.

Lageson will depart on November 4th for a week before returning on November 11th.
