MASON CITY, IA - A north Iowa education group is launching a new fundraising effort.
The Education Foundation of Mason City Public Schools is setting up four “Box Top for Education” drop boxes throughout town.
Box tops are already collected in the schools, but this is a way for folks who might not have kids in the district to donate. Each box top is worth ten cents. While that might not sound like much it can add up quick.
“Last year for example Mason City Schools did over $10,000 in Box Tops for Education; that's money that went right to the PTOs, went into the classrooms to help the kids and I think we can double our triple that,” said Jay Lala, foundation president.
The drop boxes will be located at Hy-Vee East and West, as well as Wal-Mart and Fareway in Mason City.
