MASON CITY, IA - You can become one of River City's 76 trombones during the town's annual big parade. The Mason City Chamber of Commerce is asking for your help with the North Iowa Band Fest.
It's still a long ways away, but for this 74-year tradition folks can walk in the parade and have their name on the "76 trombone."
The honor will be given to those businesses or people who donate $500 to Band Fest.
Kara Ruge, the Program Director says, "There are only 76 spots, so we're hoping they'll fill up quick and everyone will get a t-shirt in the parade that is a trombone."
Ruge also tells us they need the money to keep Band Fest a free event.
