MASON CITY, IA - There's reaction on a deadly St. Ansgar crash from advocates pushing for better school bus safety.
Seven-year-old Kadyn Halverson was hit and killed while trying to board the bus to school last May in near Northwood.
Folks in Worth County and surrounding areas are joining forces to propose "Kadyn's Law" to Iowa state lawmakers next session.
They're seeking tougher penalties in crashes involving school buses.
Supporter, Kim Koenigs, tells us, “It makes me even more determined to look at the whole bus industry and look at if there are better ways of doing anything. Is there better ways of building a bus?
Since Kadyn's death Koenigs, along with Kadyn's family and Lori Arnold, have been working to raise awareness through various events.
