OSAGE, IA - Women across the country are taking a step toward better health.
Wednesday is National Women's Health and Fitness Day. More than 100,000 women are participating in about 1,400 events across the country.
The Cedar River Complex in Osage is one such site.
Organizers say for those looking to start an exercise program it's a great way to get encouraged.
“How you feel about yourself, your frame of mind, your spirit; I think sometimes we forget about that how much better it makes us feel,” said Julie Marley, fitness coordinator at the Cedar River Complex.
This is the first year the CRC has hosted a National Women's Health Day event. They hope to keep the event growing each year.
