  As the heat and humidity rolls into the area, it's a good reminder to take precautions for heat-related illness.

  The Iowa Department of Public Health says it's important for people to stay hydrated, and cool.

  If you're sweating a lot, eat crackers or bananas to replace lost salt and minerals.

  Choose light-weight and light-colored clothing.

  Wear a hat or visor and always remember to check on those most at risk, such as the elderly, infants and young children.
